TOZO has released the VIZO Z1 Pro, an updated pro edition of its VIZO Z1 augmented reality glasses. Designed as a sleek and lightweight alternative to traditional bulky virtual reality headsets, the wearable connects directly to mobile phones and personal computers, allowing users to view media and game displays directly in their line of sight.
Virtual Display and Visual Capabilities
The VIZO Z1 Pro projects a 160-inch virtual display with Full HD visual resolution. The glasses allow users to toggle between 2D and 3D viewing modes depending on the media content. According to Pocket Gamer, the virtual screen maintains high vividness and brightness whether used outdoors in bright sunlight or indoors in low-light environments. On-screen controls enable direct adjustment of both brightness settings and audio levels.
Power Supply and Cable Integration
To maintain a lighter profile, the VIZO Z1 Pro does not contain an internal battery and does not require standalone charging. Instead, the device draws operational power directly from the battery of the connected phone or computer. The unit utilizes a frameless design, with a single tethering cable routed along the side frame to keep wiring unobtrusive during play or video streaming.
Platform Compatibility and Ergonomics
The hardware supports SteamVR streaming for computer-based gaming alongside direct screen mirroring when plugged into mobile phones. Integrated speakers built into the frame handle audio output for games and media. While Pocket Gamer found the glasses considerably easier to wear than a standard VR headset, the publication noted that they remain heavier than conventional eyewear and raised potential comfort considerations regarding prolonged exposure to high display brightness.
