Video streaming service Netflix is bundling a growing catalog of mobile games into its regular subscription tiers, offering iPhone and iPad users access to more than 80 titles without microtransactions or embedded advertisements. The strategy allows subscribers to access full mobile titles directly through Apple's App Store without paying additional download fees or microtransaction charges.
Bundled Across Every Subscription Tier
Access to the mobile game catalog is included with every active Netflix plan, starting with the base "Standard with ads" tier priced at $8.99 per month. Regardless of whether users are on entry-level or premium tiers, game access remains completely free of advertisements, paywalls, or in-app purchase prompts.
To access the titles, subscribers download individual game applications directly from the iOS App Store. Once installed, users log into the game using their primary Netflix account email address and password to unlock full gameplay.
Dedicated Apps and TV Integration
Beyond standalone mobile titles, Netflix maintains specialized iOS applications to expand how subscribers interact with its games. The company offers an app named Netflix Game Controller, which transforms an iPhone or iPad into an input controller to play games hosted on compatible smart TV versions of the Netflix app.
For younger audiences, Netflix provides Netflix Playground, an application tailored to mini-games for children. Other companion experiences include Netflix Stories as well as Netflix Puzzled: Logic Games, a standalone puzzle title that does not require an active Netflix subscription to play.
Diverse Library and Genre Coverage
The supported mobile catalog spans over 75 primary titles across diverse gaming genres, including narrative games based on popular Netflix shows and movies, cozy simulation titles, action games, strategy, and casual puzzles. While users can browse the complete listing online or via the App Store, access to most titles remains tied to maintaining an active streaming subscription.
