MediaTek announced the Dimensity CX C10 Max on September 21, 2026, as its first processor in the new Dimensity Compute Experiences family. Built for upcoming premium Googlebook devices, the 3nm chip combines an eight-core, all-big-core CPU with an 11-core GPU and dedicated hardware for local AI workloads.

Local AI Processing

The C10 Max includes MediaTek's eighth-generation neural processing unit, identified as the NPU 890. MediaTek claims it can deliver up to 55 trillion operations per second and support Gemini Intelligence features while processing more tasks on the device. The company says this approach can reduce response times and offer privacy benefits, but the source provides no independent performance tests or comparisons.

Cameras and Connectivity

An integrated Imagiq 1090 image signal processor supports laptop cameras with resolutions up to 32MP. MediaTek lists HDR video, smoother zoom, cinematic video and continuous focus among its AI-assisted imaging capabilities, positioning the chip for video calls, livestreaming and other camera-intensive uses.

Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, with claimed speeds of up to 7.3Gbps, and dual-engine Bluetooth 6.0 for accessories and audio devices. Actual wireless performance will depend on the finished laptop and its surrounding network equipment.

Aiming for Fanless Laptops

MediaTek says the processor's efficiency could let manufacturers produce thinner, lighter and fanless systems while targeting all-day battery life. Those outcomes remain manufacturer claims rather than demonstrated characteristics of a shipping device, and the report does not provide measured power consumption or battery results.

Availability Remains Limited

The C10 Max is expected to appear in an upcoming premium ultraportable, giving Googlebook manufacturers another ARM-based processor option alongside Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite. The source does not identify the first C10 Max laptop, its manufacturer, release date or price, so buyers cannot yet compare complete systems using the chip.
