Sanrio Kawaii Me Live! is a new rhythm game from Sanrio Games, the company’s in-house label, with a global release planned for January 2027. Players will tap along to music while dressing Sanrio characters and customising performance stages.
Music-led gameplay
The game’s central loop places Sanrio characters on stage as players follow songs from six artists: Soala, SHE'S, Lienel, Polkadot Stingray, Yabai T-Shirts Yasan and Mi'Line Hearts. Universal Music is involved in the music tie-up, while Zutomayo is attached to a separate collaboration.
Custom stages and rewards
Beyond the rhythm sections, players can change character outfits and rework stage designs to create the colourful look Sanrio is targeting. Pre-registration is open, with rewards linked to sign-up and social-media milestones. The announced bonuses include Cosmo Soda, accessory sets, a sticker pack, gacha tickets and a Sanrio Games-themed Hello Kitty outfit.
January concert planned
Sanrio is also scheduling Sanrio Kawaii Me Live! Launch Live for January 14, 2027, at Yokohama Kannai Hall. The event is set to feature the six Universal artists alongside Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin and My Melody. Kuromi is due to perform in 3D under the name Artist Kuromi.
Pricing remains unclear
Sanrio has not confirmed the game’s price or monetisation details. However, the pre-registration rewards include gacha tickets, indicating that chance-based item collection will be part of the release model. That detail matters for players deciding whether the customisation systems are worth exploring when the game arrives.
