Samsung has introduced its flagship Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, pairing hardware updates with a heavy focus on professional software partnerships. The launch highlights a push to compete directly with high-end digital creation and productivity devices by offering desktop-grade applications and formerly platform-exclusive tools directly out of the box.
Desktop Tools and Platform Exclusives
The Galaxy Tab S12 line marks the first Android tablets to ship pre-installed with the complete version of Adobe Photoshop. The app is tailored for tablet interactions and Samsung's S Pen stylus, featuring an AI assistant and Adobe Firefly tools like Generative Fill and Image to Video. Purchasers receive a four-month mobile plan for the application. Additionally, the note-taking application Notability, previously limited to Apple devices, is pre-loaded and optimized for the S Pen with a six-month trial and subsequent subscription discount.
Bundled Creative and Enterprise Software
According to SamMobile, the devices include access to a range of third-party creative and organizational software with introductory offers. Digital art application Clip Studio Paint provides a six-month trial alongside a initial subscription price reduction, while video editing tool LumaFusion is offered at a 66% discount for Tab S12 users. GoodNotes provides one year of complimentary access, and Notion includes a free month of its Plus plan.
Other suite additions include ArcSite for converting rough sketches into AI CAD drawings, Noteshelf 3, and MyScript tools for solving handwritten mathematical equations and generating study quizzes. Samsung also includes its own Samsung Notes application and offers a complimentary six-month subscription to Google AI Pro.
