SailPoint has announced major feature updates across its SailPoint Agentic Fabric and SailPoint Human Fabric products, built on the SailPoint Atlas platform. According to SailPoint's Horizons of Identity Security report, 79 percent of surveyed enterprises operate AI agents in production, yet only 2 percent have deployed security tools purpose-built to govern machine identities. The new capabilities aim to provide visibility into hidden AI tools, replace permanent standing credentials with temporary permissions, and automate threat response across human and machine workflows.

Autonomous Defense for Machine Operations

To govern high-speed AI interactions, SailPoint launched Autonomous Agents, a group of domain-specific AI agents built to monitor runtime actions, intercept threats, and enforce zero standing privileges. Unlike tools that halt agent operations when detecting anomalies, Autonomous Agents use identity context to distinguish legitimate business actions from malicious behaviors. SailPoint also introduced Autonomous Identity Security Posture Management (A-ISPM), which leverages live identity data in SailPoint Atlas to flag dormant accounts, orphaned access, shadow administrators, and privileged outliers, offering single-click fixes or fully automated remediation.

Just-in-Time Access and Policy Controls

To minimize the risk of permanent access credentials, the platform introduces Just-in-Time provisioning (JIT-P). This mechanism limits standing privileges by granting temporary permissions only when needed, requiring business justifications or reauthentication through collaboration tools such as Slack or ServiceNow. For operational administration, Human Fabric includes the Harbor Pilot Access Request Agent, alongside the upcoming Harbor Pilot Policy Agent that allows administrators to draft access rules in natural language. Security teams also gain access to one-click lifecycle controls and emergency agent kill switches.

Expanded Telemetry and Regional Infrastructure

SailPoint is widening its telemetry coverage to uncover non-human identities, Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, tools, and data stores using new endpoint and browser sensors, SIEM, and XDR integrations. The release includes classification links with Microsoft Purview and BigID, plus data connectors for AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, and Atlassian Confluence. Additionally, SailPoint announced IdentityIQ 9.0, an upcoming integration with Entro Security for secret discovery and credential lineage, and a new data center in South Korea to support compliance targets including FedRAMP High, PCI DSS 4.0, and EU Sovereign Cloud.
