Copenhagen-based AI transcription company Good Tape has announced fresh funding from Nordic Makers alongside the launch of Explore, a feature designed to convert individual interview transcripts into a searchable archive. Alexander Aghassipour, co-founder and former Chief Product Officer of Zendesk, led the investment for Nordic Makers and joined Good Tape's board. The capital injection accompanied a management buyout led by co-founder and CEO Lasse Finderup, which purchased the majority stake previously held by Danish media outlet Zetland to make Good Tape an independent entity.

Connecting Transcripts into an Archive Memory

Good Tape, originally developed inside the member-funded newsroom Zetland, has recorded over 15 million transcriptions across more than 100 languages for 3 million users worldwide. The new Explore feature operates as a context layer built over a user's past transcripts. Instead of leaving finished interviews isolated, Explore automatically links new audio files to historical recordings, highlighting changed opinions, contradictory statements, or supporting arguments with direct links to the source audio.

The feature supports workspace management by grouping past interviews into targeted projects, identifying core topics, and searching audio archives for relevant statements from other sources. Good Tape is also introducing speaker labelling and developing voice fingerprinting to reduce manual administrative steps when organizing audio files.

Workflow Integration and Data Governance

To streamline how teams interact with transcripts, Good Tape introduced a simplified mobile Recorder app paired with a Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration. This allows users to move directly from recording audio into external LLM environments such as Claude, Copilot, or ChatGPT, bypassing multi-step export processes while preserving access to the original audio file for editing and verification.

Good Tape relies on ISO 27001 certification, GDPR compliance, EU-based data storage, and a policy prohibiting the use of customer data for AI model training. While Explore enables shared organizational archives across teams, the platform maintains granular access controls to address privacy concerns among researchers, journalists, and enterprise clients like Human Rights Watch. Explore is initially available to users without an additional charge.
