Elastic has announced plans to incorporate OpenAI GPT Cyber models into its Elastic Security platform following its participation in the OpenAI Daybreak Defense Network. Delivered via the GPU-accelerated Elastic Inference Service (EIS), the integration aims to provide security operations teams with frontier reasoning capabilities for threat analysis directly inside established workflows.

Managed Inference for Resource-Constrained Teams

The integration delivers OpenAI's specialized cyber models through Elastic's managed inference infrastructure, eliminating the requirement for agencies to deploy or maintain independent AI hardware. Security analysts gain AI-assisted support for alert triage, root-cause investigation, detection engineering, and threat remediation. Alongside the integration, OpenAI committed $1 billion through its Daybreak for Frontline Defenders initiative to subsidize access for public sector organizations and critical infrastructure operators, beginning with an MS-ISAC pilot program tailored for state, local, tribal, and territorial teams managing water utilities.

Model-Agnostic Support for Air-Gapped Deployments

For defense, intelligence, and high-security environments where cloud-based inference is restricted, Elastic Security relies on a model-agnostic architecture. Agencies can connect custom government-managed AI models, classified instances, or alternate authorized deployments to the platform. The platform's automated workflows, investigation tools, and AI assistants operate consistently regardless of the underlying model, preserving human oversight over defense actions.

Regulatory Alignment and Deployment Terms

The integration addresses operational pressures on public infrastructure, supporting federal directives such as OMB M-26-14 and CISA's CI Fortify initiative that encourage centralized log analysis and automated threat detection across enterprise and operational networks. Elastic noted that any unreleased features or capabilities described in its deployment roadmap remain subject to change at the company's discretion.
