Apple has released the third developer beta of iOS 27.2, advancing its major mobile operating system cycle following the general availability of iOS 27 on September 14, 2026. The test build brings a range of functional and visual updates, led by broadened global language support for Siri AI and a redesigned Health application.
Expanded Siri AI Language Capabilities
In iOS 27.2 developer beta 3, Apple has expanded Siri AI language support to cover French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. The addition broadens the reach of Apple's voice intelligence features across multiple international markets beyond the initial launch regions.
Overhauled Health App and FaceTime Dual Capture
The beta build activates the overhauled Health application for developer testing, bringing to life the design changes first previewed during the iPhone 18 Pro launch event. Group FaceTime also gains a new dual capture mode, providing users with expanded video input options during group video calls.
Media App Adjustments in Podcasts, Music, and TV
Apple integrated several interface and organizational refinements into its media applications. Apple TV app user profiles are now supported on iPhone. In Apple Podcasts, the traditional "Up Next" section has been renamed "New Episodes," with the "Continue Playing" section positioned directly underneath, alongside new color-matched background designs for episode lists. In Apple Music, text labels now incorporate less tinting from the application icon color.
Parallel iOS 27.1 Schedule for iPhone Duo
The arrival of iOS 27.2 follows a distinct software release strategy, as Apple bypasses iOS 27.1 for general iPhone devices. iOS 27.1 is tailored specifically for the foldable iPhone Duo. Developers building for the dual-display hardware rely on Xcode 27.1 beta, released on September 18, 2026, which includes the iPhone Duo simulator and specialized SDK tools. Apple has also opened testing for iOS 27.2 through a public beta release track.
