Antseed Launches Decentralized AI Inference Marketplace to Cut API Costs

The Antseed Foundation has launched Antseed, a peer-to-peer marketplace designed to lower artificial intelligence inference costs by enabling developers to route requests outside traditional centralized API gateways. Alongside the platform's release, the organization closed a $2.4 million token funding round led by Spark Capital, with participation from DCG, Collider, North Island Ventures, Reciprocal Ventures, Venice.ai, and Relay Capital.

Dynamic Local Routing

Standard AI deployments depend heavily on centralized middleman APIs that dictate usage limits and pricing structures. Antseed seeks to bypass these bottlenecks using a self-hosted local router that connects developers directly to independent compute providers. Under this model, hardware operators list their available inference capacity and set independent prices. Antseed claims this open bidding mechanism can decrease access costs for frontier AI models by up to 97% compared to official gateway rates.

Verification and Privacy Controls

To maintain service quality, the network runs continuous verification checks to confirm that providers host the models and capacity they claim. Failing an inspection decreases a provider's reputation score and lowers its routing priority. The system operates anonymously, removing mandatory user registration and recurring subscription plans in favor of a pay-per-request pricing structure. Developers requiring prompt confidentiality can also select hardware-verified providers to process their requests.

Early Network Metrics

Antseed co-founder Amos Meiri compared the infrastructure to BitTorrent, stating that local endpoints allow developers to tune request routing based on latency, expense, capabilities, and privacy requirements. On-chain data cited by the company indicates the network has processed nearly 150 billion tokens across 202 active hardware providers. Spark Capital General Partner Santo Politi highlighted that managing inference expenses is critical as AI applications scale, framing Antseed's decentralized model as an open counterweight to centralized compute suppliers.
