GitHub has made expanded Copilot code review controls generally available, giving users on every Copilot plan a dedicated settings page and adding an enterprise-wide default for review effort.
Personal automation settings
The new Copilot code review page sits under a user’s Copilot settings. It replaces the earlier arrangement, in which personal review controls were limited to Copilot Pro, Pro+, and Max and covered only one automatic-review setting.
The page is now available across Copilot plans, including Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise. Users can enable automatic reviews when they create or coauthor a pull request, or when they move their own or coauthored pull request out of draft status.
Reviews can follow new pushes
The controls also cover new pushes to pull requests and draft pull requests that a user creates or coauthors. This gives developers separate ways to decide when Copilot should review changes during the pull-request process rather than relying on a single automatic trigger.
Users can set a default review effort for reviews they request, including automatically triggered reviews. GitHub currently identifies the personal choices as Lite and Balanced. A manually requested review can still use a different effort selected from the pull request’s Reviewers area.
Enterprise defaults and overrides
Authorized enterprise administrators can now set one default review effort for the whole enterprise. The available enterprise choices are Lite, Balanced, or the GitHub default, and the setting is inherited by organization-owned repositories.
The enterprise setting does not remove local control: organizations and individual repositories can continue to define their own overrides. The update therefore adds a central baseline while preserving more specific configuration at lower levels.
