Neurotechnology company Neurable has introduced Neurable One, a pair of audio headphones equipped with brain-computer interface (BCI) sensors designed for continuous daily tracking. Priced at $499 USD in the United States, the hardware combines standard active noise cancellation with noninvasive EEG monitoring to deliver real-time metrics on mental state.

Hardware and Signal Tracking

Neurable One integrates 12 EEG sensors directly into its ear pads, capturing neural signals while users listen to audio, work, or rest. The company built both the hardware and accompanying software in-house, pairing the headphones with a new app for iOS and Android.

The companion app processes raw brain activity through Neurable AI—the company's patented processing platform—to calculate metrics such as focus, cognitive load, cognitive speed, and a real-time 'brain battery.' The system also measures Alpha Peak Frequency (APF) alongside sleepiness and stress levels to estimate remaining mental reserves.

Real-Time Feedback and Data Banking

The platform provides dynamic features during use, including Focus Sessions that highlight attention drift, neuroadaptive audio that adjusts to cognitive shifts, and Smart Brain Breaks that alert users to mental fatigue. The software also evaluates brain states during restorative periods like naps or meditation.

To analyze long-term trends, the mobile app generates weekly and monthly performance reports. Additionally, a feature called Brain Data Banking records and stores brain activity whenever the app is open while the headphones are worn, creating a continuous historical log of cognitive performance over time.

OEM Partnerships and Market Scope

Alongside its own consumer hardware, Neurable is licensing its BCI platform to third-party equipment manufacturers. The company is actively working with OEM partners to integrate its brain-sensing technology into additional form factors, including third-party headphones, gaming headsets, helmets, and industrial hearing protection.
