Momentic Inc. has announced the launch of Mo, an artificial intelligence agent designed to let developers test software without maintaining traditional collections of test scripts.
Moving Beyond Scripted Test Suites
According to Momentic co-founder and Chief Executive Wei-Wei Wu, modern code creation and AI-driven build cycles have outpaced traditional quality assurance, leading to a maintenance burden where test scripts themselves can become liabilities.
While earlier tools used large language models to help developers describe workflows in ordinary language, Mo removes the intermediate script layer entirely, allowing quality assurance agents to work directly from requirements and intent.
Interface and Workflow Execution
Mo features a web interface with a chat box and a command-line interface for task automation, operating similarly to existing developer tools like Claude Code.
Developers can provide a URL, test credentials, and additional context from product requirements documents, Jira issues, Linear tickets, or Confluence documents.
The agent deploys a swarm of autonomous agents to explore permutations and edge cases, subsequently providing developers with interaction logs, bug reports, reproduction steps, and video evidence.
Early Adoption and Limitations
Momentic reports that technology and service industry companies, including Notion, Superpower, Iris, Committee for Children, and Boundless, have tested the platform over recent weeks.
Although Mo eliminates the need to manually write and maintain test suites, developers retain the option to convert the reproducible interactions and descriptions into scripts of their choice.
